Job Title: Primary Care Physician - Asylum Seeker Health
Job Summary:
MSF UK is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Primary Care Physician to join our team in providing primary healthcare services to asylum seekers in the UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical care, with a focus on mental health support and referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient primary medical care to asylum seekers, adhering to MSF/DOTW protocols, policies, and universal hygiene standards.
- Work collaboratively with the UK migration project team to deliver medical services at the Wethersfield mass containment site.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of medical programs and services, ensuring they meet the needs of asylum seekers.
Requirements:
- Trained General Practitioner (GP) with experience working with people in the asylum system.
- Strong understanding of and empathy with mental health needs for people going through the asylum system.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience in migrant health and migration contexts (desirable).
- Fluent in Arabic, Persian, Kurdish, Pashto, Tigrinya, or Amharic (highly desirable).
- A valid UK driving License (highly desirable).
