Airfield Operations Duty Manager

We are seeking an experienced Airfield Operations Duty Manager to provide day-to-day leadership of our operations team and manage the successful running of the department on a 24/7 basis. This is a key role within Manchester Airport PLC, requiring a strong leader who can ensure all aspects of airfield operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in a way that proactively improves performance and exceeds customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Staff Management: Manage staff and resources efficiently and effectively to ensure compliance with airside safety standards.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with various stakeholders to provide a safe operational environment for aircraft, colleagues, and passengers.
- Winter Operations: Ownership of the Winter Operations Plan to ensure safe and efficient anti-icing and/or snow clearing activities are carried out with minimal impact to operation.
- Contractor Management: Management of contractors throughout Aerodrome works packages ensuring safety and compliance standards are maintained, including major works such as runway rehabilitation.
- Airside Safety Culture: Promote an airside safety culture and make relevant recommendations to improve safety standards.
- Environmental Compliance: Management of Environmental compliance regimes.
- Experience: Previous experience of working in a high-pressured fast-paced environment with the ability to remain focused.
- Operational and People Management Experience: Both Operational and People Management experience, as well as experience in developing, maintaining, and implementing operational procedures and practices.
- Situational Awareness and Communication Skills: Situational awareness is key, as are impeccable communication skills.
- Accident Investigation Experience: Any experience of carrying out in-depth accident investigations will be very helpful.
We operate a 4 days on 4 days off shift pattern - with working hours from 6am - 6pm and vice versa.
