Bechtel Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Piping Materials Engineer to join our team as a Project Management Consultant (PMC) for a major Indian corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in piping materials and valves for the upgrade/expansion of petrochemical facilities in India.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Review and Compliance: Review the work of contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Piping Material Classes Development: Develop and maintain Piping Material Classes using Smartplant Reference Data (SRD).
- Piping Calculations and Requisitions: Undertake and check related piping calculations, including wall thickness, branch reinforcement, vacuum, line blank thickness, etc. Plan, coordinate, and prepare requisitions, including Technical Bid Evaluations for all bulk piping components.
- Vendor Document Review and Technical Specifications: Review vendor documents for all piping purchase orders and develop technical, design, and purchasing specifications for all bulk piping components.
- Specialty Piping Items and Technical Queries: Develop specialty piping items as required and review Technical Queries and Deviation Requests, working with the client and other disciplines to develop responses.
- Piping Materials Coordination and Review: Coordinate piping materials technical detail for several contractors and review MSDs, P&IDs, and inter-discipline coordination as required.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and be a Chartered Engineer or have a suitable equivalent. They will have extensive experience and technical expertise in piping materials and valves, with a strong understanding of piping material requirements specific to petrochemical and polymer plants. The candidate will also have knowledge of industry or local regulatory codes and standards, including ASME, BIS, API, AWWA, ASTM, and MSS.
Assignment ConditionsIf the candidate is successful, Bechtel Corporation will organize their relocation and logistics, including Indian visas, travel, and provision of accommodation in Mumbai. The company offers a single status rotational schedule for those who prefer rotation, with 10 weeks working in country and 2 weeks at home in the UK for the project duration.
