Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of civil engineering systems to the conceptual stage, ensuring compliance with business, legal, and contractual obligations for government initiatives. Your role will include Technical Assurance Management, guaranteeing that design principles are upheld by contractors throughout the design and construction phases.
This position requires expertise in various government and public frameworks, overseeing project delivery while acting as a technical advisor for both below-ground and surface water drainage systems. A solid understanding of highway and pavement design is also essential.
Given the sensitive nature of the projects, security clearances will be necessary, and candidates must have resided in the UK for a minimum of three years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops designs and manages the design process in accordance with framework contract stipulations.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary design teams, client representatives, and construction personnel.
- Aids in the preparation of reporting documentation.
- Supports the client during the tendering process, condition assessments, and project handover.
- Participates in client meetings and design workshops as required.
- Reviews and provides feedback on contractor proposals.
- Engages in business improvement initiatives where applicable.
- Works cooperatively towards shared objectives, taking collective responsibility for project outcomes.
Required Skills:
Essential Qualifications:
- A relevant degree in Civil Engineering.
- Chartered status or progress towards it.
- Familiarity with applicable standards and regulations, along with comprehensive knowledge of statutory requirements, below-ground drainage, and SuDS systems.
- Proficient in Revit software.
- Strong understanding of statutory regulations and standards.
- Effective technical skills, with a solid foundation in all civil engineering systems.
- A collaborative approach to working alongside architects, engineers, and sustainability experts to create energy-efficient design solutions.
