About the Role

We are partnering with a world-renowned automotive manufacturer specializing in cutting-edge electric vehicles (EVs). They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Closures & Mechanisms Engineer to join their dynamic R&D team.

As a key member of the engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and integration of closures and mechanisms for next-generation EV vehicles. Your expertise will contribute directly to shaping the future of sustainable transportation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers focused on closures and mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Engineer, Body in White & Exterior, to ensure seamless integration of components and systems.
  • Conduct thorough benchmarking of competitor vehicles and generate comprehensive reports on findings.
  • Lead the development of 3D and 2D models for closures and mechanisms using advanced CAD software (Catia).
  • Perform design surface (CAS) feasibility checks and provide expert advice and guidance to ensure optimal design solutions.
  • Participate actively in cross-functional integration reviews to ensure the successful implementation of components and systems.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • A relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience in a similar role within the automotive industry.
  • Proven track record of success in an OEM, Tier 1 supplier, or consultancy environment, specializing in closures and mechanisms for automotive applications.
  • Extensive experience throughout the complete vehicle development cycle, specifically focusing on closures and mechanism activities.
  • Mastery of CAD software (Catia) and proficiency in other relevant engineering tools.
