Job Description

Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor - Housebuilding Industry

Job Type: Full-time or 4-day week available

Experience: Minimum 5 years in residential surveying (preferred)

Education: HND/Degree or relevant experience in Quantity Surveying

Driving Licence: Required

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting cost analyses, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on time, and identifying and mitigating commercial risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cost analyses to ensure accurate payments
  • Provide expert advice on contract law and commercial risks
  • Work closely with site managers to ensure smooth project execution
  • Prepare and analyze contracts, with a strong understanding of commercial law within the housebuilding sector
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks, and advise on contractual claims

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the housebuilding sector
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Knowledge of commercial law and the legal framework for construction contracts (including contractual notices)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience with a housebuilder PLC or in a similar residential Quantity Surveyor role, or an HND/Degree in a related field
  • A network of subcontractor contacts (advantageous but not required)
