Position Overview:
As a Lead Veterinary Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
- Key Team Member: Proficiently manage all facets of veterinary practice, encompassing consultations, surgical procedures, diagnostic imaging (including x-rays, ultrasound, and CT scans), and independent oversight of medical cases.
- Diverse Case Management: Address emergency and complex medical cases referred from other branches and local clinics, demonstrating your extensive clinical acumen.
- Technical Expertise: Tackle technically challenging cases and exhibit a comprehensive depth and breadth of clinical knowledge. Holding a relevant certification or pursuing one is highly beneficial.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Display exceptional leadership abilities, guide less experienced veterinarians, and support the team.
- Effective Communication: Provide outstanding client service through excellent communication skills, ensuring contextualized care.
- Business Growth: Show a proactive interest in and willingness to contribute to the development and advancement of the practice.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- 40 hours per week
- 4 days a week
- 1 weekend in 5 with a day off in lieu
- Second on-call rotation (1 in 15 weeks)
- Salary up to £65,000
About the Facility:
The facility features a large, purpose-built central hospital, complemented by additional fully equipped branch practices.
Facility Highlights:
- Advanced technology including CT scanning, ultrasound, digital x-ray, laparoscopy, and both rigid and flexible endoscopy.
- A fully equipped in-house laboratory.
- Dedicated wards for various species, including cats, dogs, exotics, isolation, and day procedures.
- A fantastic nursing and support team to collaborate with.
- Multiple certificate holders and staff with diverse clinical interests and expertise.
- Referral services for orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotics.
- A fully staffed out-of-hours team alongside our daytime team.
Your Qualifications and Experience:
