About the Role

We are currently looking for a Project Engineering Support Specialist to assist in the installation, configuration, recalibration, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems to support customer projects related to internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, and electric powertrains.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in developing, configuring, modifying, and debugging test cell control and data acquisition software (e.g., N.I Labview, Veristand, SierraCP Cadet, AVL Puma, FEV Morphee, or similar).
  • In-depth technical knowledge and practical experience with powertrain test cells, facilities, and their components.
  • Familiarity with measurement and instrumentation devices such as power analyzers, oscilloscopes, fuel weighers, emissions/particulate measurement tools, sensors, and transducers.
  • Experience in fault finding and testing system integration with A/C drives and Battery Simulation.
  • Understanding of system communications protocols such as CAN, Flexray, LIN, Modbus, RS232/485, etc.
  • Adept at identifying key actions/issues and determining necessary follow-up actions.
Opportunity Overview

You will collaborate closely with the Project Support & Facilities team and Project Engineers to ensure the prompt and effective setup of new customer projects, delivering exceptional service across multiple test facilities. Your role will involve identifying and implementing enhancements in equipment and operational practices to foster continuous improvement for both the company and its clients.

Main Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborating with Project Engineers to establish and fulfill technical requirements for customer projects.
  • Taking technical ownership of test cell and equipment configurations for each project, including:
    • Instrumentation
    • Equipment setup
    • Health & Safety sign-off
    • Project-specific risk assessments
    • Troubleshooting and resolution of issues
  • Standardizing test setup equipment, configurations, and procedures.
  • Commissioning new equipment.
  • Managing mobile test equipment procurement, maintenance, calibration, and configuration.
  • Communicating risks and issues effectively.
  • Contributing to departmental communication strategies, including regular meetings and briefings.
  • Assisting in the collection of departmental KPI data to enhance project setup efficiency.
  • Maintaining asset databases to monitor equipment status.
  • Ensuring that controlled documents are kept up to date within the Quality system.
  • Overseeing external suppliers of critical equipment and services to guarantee optimal equipment operation.
  • Identifying and executing continuous improvement initiatives.
