Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Peri-operative Assistant to join our Vascular Access Specialist Team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect care for patients in support of Perioperative Practitioners and medical staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation and evaluation of care as part of the multi-professional team.
  • Plan, implement, deliver, and maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of an environment for effective care.
  • Lead a team of peri-operative assistants and apprentice peri-operative assistants.
Requirements
  • Significant experience of working within a healthcare setting delivering clinical, perioperative, and personal care.
  • Insight into roles and responsibilities of the post.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Utilization of planning and organizational skills.
Qualifications
  • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, Diploma in Health Level 3, Diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • Level 3 or equivalent healthcare-related qualification.
  • The Care Certificate or in the absence of this, the applicant must successfully attain the Care Certificate within the first 3 months of employment.
