Principal Control Systems Specialist

Wood PLC is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Instrumentation Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instrument and control engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Execute project work in accordance with Discipline Design Instructions, including Wood and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control.
- Develop and implement effective control and instrumentation strategies to meet project objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in instrument and control engineering.
- BSc in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or relevant field.
- Extensive experience in instrument and control engineering in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry.
- Project experience is preferable, with a strong understanding of gas plants, refineries, and other complex industrial processes.
- Excellent knowledge of basic instrumentation and control, including flow, level, pressure, temperature, and process analysis.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems for instrumentation, including cabling, wiring methods, grounding, materials, and control circuits.
- Knowledgeable of national and international standards, including ISA, ANSI, ASME, API, NFPA, and IEC.
- Field experience in oil, gas, or petrochemical industries, with a strong understanding of instrument and control installations, including selection and installation of field instruments, cables, enclosures, trays, hazardous area installations, and grounding.
- Experience with Distributed Control System (DCS) and Emergency Shutdown System (ESD) and their implementation.
- Strong computer skills, with advanced experience in office and technical software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
