With a robust project pipeline extending into the future, they are in search of a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to enhance their accomplished team and continue delivering significant electrical projects, including those involving battery energy storage systems, solar energy facilities, data centers, and industrial & commercial applications.
Key Responsibilities of the Lead Electrical Design Engineer:
- Oversee project design and proposal development
- Foster a culture of ongoing improvement within the team and ensure continuous development of processes
- Collaborate with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs) to secure design approvals
- Guide clients through the design journey
- Prepare project cost estimates and detailed reports
- Source technical quotations for major procurement items
- Support and mentor junior engineers in their professional growth
- Evaluate the quality and technical aspects of work produced by team members
- Authorize designs from electrical, protection, manufacturers, and consultants
- Ensure effective management of the design approval process and client engagement
- Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and project discussions
- Actively contribute to business development by cultivating strong relationships and identifying potential opportunities during project execution
Qualifications for the Lead Electrical Design Engineer:
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical distribution design up to 132kV
- HNC or higher qualification in an engineering discipline
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (preferred)
- Valid UK driving license
