With a robust project pipeline extending into the future, they are in search of a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to enhance their accomplished team and continue delivering significant electrical projects, including those involving battery energy storage systems, solar energy facilities, data centers, and industrial & commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Oversee project design and proposal development
  • Foster a culture of ongoing improvement within the team and ensure continuous development of processes
  • Collaborate with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs) to secure design approvals
  • Guide clients through the design journey
  • Prepare project cost estimates and detailed reports
  • Source technical quotations for major procurement items
  • Support and mentor junior engineers in their professional growth
  • Evaluate the quality and technical aspects of work produced by team members
  • Authorize designs from electrical, protection, manufacturers, and consultants
  • Ensure effective management of the design approval process and client engagement
  • Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and project discussions
  • Actively contribute to business development by cultivating strong relationships and identifying potential opportunities during project execution

Qualifications for the Lead Electrical Design Engineer:

  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical distribution design up to 132kV
  • HNC or higher qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (preferred)
  • Valid UK driving license
