We are currently looking for a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will manage multiple concurrent medium-sized projects, engage directly with clients in the development, design, and coordination of engineering projects, which may involve creating design packages for contractors under design and build agreements. This role includes overseeing medium-sized projects and engaging with clients in the development and design coordination of engineering services for electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of medium-sized projects, engaging with clients in the development and design coordination of engineering services for electrical systems.
  • Develop and specify applications for controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services.
  • Conduct surveys, tests, and evaluations of existing electrical systems.
  • Specify activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing meet functional specifications and client requirements.
  • Make day-to-day decisions regarding project progress and maintain direct communication with clients.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with clients, professional teams, and contractor teams.
  • Perform engineering calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Ensure the technical accuracy and content of work produced by Trainees, Graduates, and Engineers.
  • Validate and review designs and specifications.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and expertise:

  • BEng, MSc, or equivalent experience.
  • MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND with relevant experience.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Proficient in specification design and drawing for various building types.
  • Strong understanding of key Health and Safety regulations and legislation.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to utilize IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
  • Good knowledge of British Standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Management skills are preferred.
  • Experience in consulting or construction is advantageous.
  • Understanding of international operations and business practices in a global consultancy context.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and adherence to the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines.
