Hutcheon Mearns is pleased to announce an opening for a Finance Support Specialist within our client’s oil service organization. This is a full-time, temporary role that will be conducted from the client’s office. The initial contract duration is set for 3-6 months, with the potential for extension or transition to a permanent position. We are also open to considering candidates interested in part-time arrangements.
Role Overview
The Finance Support Specialist will assist the Finance department with end-of-month processes and the upkeep of the general ledger. Key responsibilities include:
- Monthly maintenance of the fixed asset register, including the booking of depreciation for all entities and updating month-end financial packages for capital expenditures against budget, along with variance explanations.
- Recording credit card transactions and performing monthly reconciliations.
- Managing and recording petty cash transactions.
- Setting foreign exchange rates within the ERP system for all entities.
- Overseeing prepayments and insurance journal entries.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for multiple entities and addressing any discrepancies.
- Completing VAT returns.
- Preparing and entering journal entries.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, demonstrate initiative, and exhibit excellent communication abilities. The capacity to work independently and adhere to tight deadlines is crucial for this role. We encourage individuals with relevant experience to apply.
