Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Relief Domestic Assistant to join our team in Angus Locality. As a key member of our Domestic Services Department, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness within our healthcare setting. This includes wards, side rooms, theatres, offices, health centers, and GP practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively as part of a team or independently, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, patients, and visitors.
  • Respond professionally to unpredictable situations, demonstrating resilience and composure under pressure.
  • Complete domestic-related paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Display awareness of basic health and safety and infection control issues associated with the role.
  • Perform tasks in a methodical and organized manner, adhering to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Follow instructions and guidance from supervisors and colleagues.
  • Participate in mandatory training, both online and face-to-face, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Carry out a range of duties safely and competently, including walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, utilizing appropriate aids.
  • Cope with working in busy clinical and non-clinical environments, including areas with increased heat, secure units, and areas with distressed patients.
  • Work in environments that may be classified as infected.
  • Maintain a professional approach and attitude at all times.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
  • Be willing to learn and adapt to new situations and challenges.

Working Arrangements:

All Domestic Assistants are required to work throughout NHS Tayside at various sites and areas as needed. We encourage flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and patient care.
