Company Overview
We are a manufacturer of Oil & Gas equipment located in the North-East of England, boasting over 40 years of expertise in producing critical subsea components and systems. Recently, we have become part of the Express Engineering Group, which employs over 300 individuals across two companies.
Position Overview
We are looking for a qualified and experienced NDT Technician to become a vital member of our team.
Key Responsibilities
As an NDT Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting NDT on in-process and finished machined components as well as high-integrity fabrication welds to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Utilizing a strong NDT background with a minimum of PCN level 2 qualifications in MPI, LPI, and UT (3.1 / 3.2).
- Generating detailed technical NDT reports.
- Understanding the distinctions between Ferromagnetic and Non-Ferromagnetic Alloy materials.
- Employing strong mathematical skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Exhibiting a proactive attitude and collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Being adaptable and willing to work overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
- Engaging in continuous learning and personal development.
- Sharing knowledge and providing training to colleagues.
- Having experience in an Engineering production setting.
- Possessing knowledge of welding processes (e.g., clad overlay) and familiarity with Engineering Standards such as ASME / API is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Assisting with various quality control activities, including Pressure Testing, Hardness Testing, Heat Treatment, PMI, and Thickness Checks.
