Position Overview
Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Psychiatric Consultant to join our dedicated team within the inpatient services. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to adults in an acute setting.
About the Role
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality psychiatric assessments and treatment plans for patients admitted to our inpatient unit. The consultant will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective care delivery and facilitate timely patient discharges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert psychiatric care to a mixed-gender ward, ensuring a patient-centered approach.
- Lead and support a team of healthcare professionals, including trainees and allied health staff.
- Engage in clinical leadership and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Conduct regular clinical assessments and participate in care planning and risk management.
- Foster strong relationships with community mental health teams to support patient transitions.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess the following:
- A primary medical degree and full GMC registration.
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register or expected completion of CCT.
- Experience in acute psychiatric settings and multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
