Job Overview:

As a Laboratory Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the daily functions of the laboratory during your designated shift, ensuring that all processes are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry regulations.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week - 4 days on, 6 days off, with 2 day shifts (07:00am – 19:00pm) and 2 night shifts (19:00pm – 07:00am).

Location: Ellesmere Port

Compensation: Competitive salary plus shift allowance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate laboratory staff and operations during your shift.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and examination of oil and gas samples.
  • Monitor equipment functionality and manage maintenance and repairs as necessary.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks and maintain accurate documentation of findings.
  • Provide training and support to laboratory personnel, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Address and resolve any issues that may arise during the shift.
  • Communicate effectively with other shift supervisors and management to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in a service-related field within the petrochemical industry.
  • A Levels in Science/Mathematics/English with grades A to C, or equivalent experience in an analytical laboratory.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of effective personnel management techniques.
  • A valid UK driving license.
