The Role: Multi-Skilled Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our dedicated engineering team at the Kara site. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you will play a vital part in maintaining the smooth operation of our production facilities.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of equipment breakdowns, conducting swift diagnoses and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Utilize our CMMS system to provide detailed reports on maintenance activities and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Adhere to strict Health and Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene standards at all times, promoting a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to execute planned maintenance schedules meticulously, optimizing equipment reliability and contributing to overall site efficiency targets.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiencies and minimize waste within the production process.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a time-served apprentice or holding an equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
  • Comprehensive skills in both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Demonstrated ability in fault finding and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Achievement of the 18th Edition electrical certification.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching other engineers.
  • General proficiency with PC applications.
  • Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
