Class 1 Day Shift Driver Job Description

Connect Driver Solutions, a leading driving and transport recruiter in the North East, is seeking a Class 1 Day Shift Driver for a long-term position.

Location: Gateshead

Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour (paid weekly/PAYE only)

We are looking for a Class 1 Driver to work with waste, with an element of manual handling involved. You will have a driver's mate to assist you, and the role will involve collecting products such as TVs and fridges, as well as loading and unloading vehicles.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, starting at 6:30am

Your Responsibilities as a Class 1 Day Shift Driver:

  • Operate Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Perform regular vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance
  • Comply with WTD, driver hours & rest periods

Requirements for the Class 1 Day Shift Driver Position:

  • Valid CAT C+E licence/LGV 1/HGV 1 licence
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with Class 1 vehicles
  • Valid CPC & Digi cards
  • No more than six points on your licence, with no DD, CD, DR, IN, or TT codes accepted
