Position Summary:

We are on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Information Technology Educator to lead our IT User Skills courses at Levels 2, 3, and 4. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in equipping learners with vital IT competencies, paving the way for their further education or career opportunities in technology-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging IT User Skills courses across Levels 2, 3, and 4.
  • Design and update curriculum materials that meet industry benchmarks.
  • Evaluate student performance through practical assessments and examinations.
  • Offer mentorship and support to students, including career guidance.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance the IT curriculum.
  • Stay informed about the latest technology trends and educational practices.
  • Prepare and conduct high-quality lessons in accordance with educational standards.
  • Implement innovative teaching methods that accommodate various learning preferences.
  • Utilize diverse educational resources, including textbooks and online tools.
  • Monitor student progress through regular assignments and projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, focusing on improvement areas.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Teaching qualification or a commitment to obtaining one.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in teaching IT, ideally at Levels 2-4.
  • Strong grasp of contemporary IT practices and software applications.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the IT industry or related sectors.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technology.
  • Background in teaching within a further education context.

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Incorporate practical exercises into all lessons.
  • Teach problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Address IT ethics and professional standards.
  • Discuss the influence of technology across various sectors.
  • Prepare students for relevant IT certifications.
  • Develop essential soft skills such as teamwork and critical thinking.
  • Facilitate guest lectures from industry experts.
  • Encourage group projects and presentations to build practical skills.
