About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Solicitor to join our team at Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment. Our client is a prestigious law firm based in South London, and they are looking for a skilled professional to manage and lead a varied caseload of residential property transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transaction Management: Manage and lead a diverse caseload of residential property transactions from inception to completion, ensuring seamless communication and timely progression.
  • Expert Legal Advice: Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of residential property law, including sales, purchases, transfers, and leases, to clients and stakeholders.
  • Due Diligence and Document Preparation: Conduct thorough due diligence, draft, and review legal documents, and negotiate terms on behalf of clients.
  • Client Liaison and Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and timely progression of transactions.
  • Mentorship and Supervision: Mentor and supervise junior solicitors and support staff, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Professional Development: Stay up to date with the latest developments in residential property law and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Business Development: Contribute to business development activities, including client retention and networking to attract new clients.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Qualifications: Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE in residential property law.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of residential conveyancing processes, regulations, and best practices, as well as excellent negotiation, communication, and client management skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, with a proactive, detail-oriented, and capable approach to handling complex transactions with minimal supervision.
  • Desirable Experience: Experience in mentoring and supervising junior team members is desirable.
