Job Title: Senior Firmware Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team, you will be responsible for designing and developing firmware for our Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in firmware development, with experience in creating architectures for firmware, mainly FPGAs. You will be responsible for understanding, decomposing, and verifying firmware requirements, as well as defining and performing unit level and sub-system level testing for embedded firmware.

Main Duties:
  • Develop requirements to ensure compliance to relevant standards.
  • Create and manage architectures for firmware, mainly FPGAs.
  • Understand, decompose, and verify firmware requirements.
  • Define and perform unit level and sub-system level testing for embedded firmware.
  • Work alongside our embedded system, software, and electronic design engineers.
  • Generate supporting design documentation and perform regular technical reviews.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience creating firmware architectures.
  • Experience testing and verifying requirements.
  • Experience working with FPGAs and SoC technologies.
  • Ability to program in VHDL.
  • Able to present technical information clearly and concisely to others.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An openness to learn and try new techniques.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment - working independently or with others to overcome obstacles.
  • Capable of analysing and reporting on technical data.
  • Eligible or holder of current SC security clearance.
