Leonardo is seeking a talented Digital Electronic Design Engineer to contribute to cutting-edge airborne communications technology.

As part of our dedicated team, you will play a vital role in designing digital subsystems that seamlessly integrate with RF and control systems for aircraft concept demonstrators and laboratory prototypes. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire product lifecycle, from initial design conception to final delivery, ensuring close collaboration with partners and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative board designs for AESA antennas and other critical digital control systems.
  • Provide expert support in microcontroller design for complex mixed RF/Digital projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with ECAD engineers to ensure optimal PCB layout.
  • Create sophisticated designs for RF over fiber modules and diverse interfaces.
  • Work closely with our antenna design team to achieve seamless integration.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in PCB assembly design and meticulous documentation.
  • Hands-on expertise in PCBA bring-up and fault-finding procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of signal & power integrity, EMC, and grounding best practices.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or Physics.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions independently.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with requirements management tools.
  • Experience in system integration and comprehensive debug processes.
  • Background in the defense electronics sector.
  • Experience working with airborne military platforms.
