Job Summary

Spire Healthcare is seeking a skilled Engineering Assistant to join their team on a Bank contract. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on a variety of shifts, covering sickness, annual leave, or additional support as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day reactive maintenance services to ensure the hospital's facilities are running smoothly.
  • Conduct maintenance and testing of equipment, adhering to current HTM recommendations and legislative guidelines.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program for all building services, equipment, and associated records.
  • Identify personal training and development needs, and discuss solutions with the line manager.
  • Liaise with external contractors providing specialist services to building and equipment.
  • Provide out-of-hours emergency on-call service.
  • Complete weekly records of plant and services to ensure they are within required parameters.
  • Order materials for maintenance purposes, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage and security.
  • Deputise for the Engineering Manager and undertake other duties as assigned.
  • Attend mandatory training and relevant ongoing professional development.
Requirements
  • Qualified as a Mechanical Tradesman to City & Guilds equivalent.
  • Post-qualification experience.
  • Flexibility to work multiple days per week, ideally.
  • Right to work in the UK (this role does not offer visa sponsorship).
