About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Janitor to join our team at BAM UK & Ireland. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to daily requests and enquiries, and resolve problems presented by authority representatives, building users, and other staff.
  • Proactively address general site maintenance issues and porterage duties.
  • Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction based on speed of response and completion rates.
  • Provide accurate purchasing of spares and consumables via the helpdesk.
  • Ensure safe and secure storage of spare parts, materials, tools, and consumables.
  • Report and deal with maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards and comply with risk and method statements.
  • Remove internal and external waste, and carry out daily room set-ups and porterage requests.
  • Provide emergency cleaning, including removal of graffiti and accidental body spills.
  • Respond to and control door/gate entry systems and keys.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Full driving license.
  • Experience of working in an educational institution would be advantageous.
