Job Title: Mixologist

Reports to: Bar Manager

Main Responsibilities:

To ensure a seamless service of the bar in the most efficient and effective manner, delivering the highest possible standards of service while being proactive in maintaining and/or improving sales.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
    • Deliver consistent high-quality drinks to the standards expected by the bar manager and customers.
    • Ensure consistent communication within the team and to the bar manager/supervisor, responding to customer requests and feedback promptly and efficiently.
    • Foster a culture of flexibility, responding quickly and positively to changing requirements.
    • Ensure a positive approach to the customer, recognizing regulars, and providing exceptional service.
  • Daily Working Practice:
    • Ensure correct mise-en-place is prepared prior to each service.
    • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and correct working practice.
    • Ensure personal grooming and uniform standards are maintained in line with company policies.
    • Ensure that after service, all areas are properly cleaned, checked, and locked.
    • Be informed of ongoing promotions and positively upsell special items.
  • Cash Handling:
    • Take responsibility for delivering a daily cash out without discrepancies.
    • Exercise extreme vigilance in cash and credit card handling.
    • Support the reservations team in transferring bills to the restaurant.
    • Ensure customers receive VAT receipts for every completed transaction.
  • Stock Management:
    • Minimize wastage and spillage.
    • Gain sufficient knowledge in cocktail making to avoid over- or under-pouring.
    • Ensure every served drink is entered into the remanco system.
  • Training and Development:
    • Gain and improve cocktail and spirit knowledge to the highest standard by studying cocktail descriptions and attending organized staff tastings/trainings.
    • Support the bar manager/supervisor in training junior colleagues.
    • Gain a good understanding of food served to assist floor service if needed.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of cocktails and spirits.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling.
