Position: Test and Inspection Electrician

We are seeking a Test and Inspection Electrician to join a prominent Mechanical and Electrical Services Company operating throughout Hampshire.

This is a full-time role, offering 37 hours per week, with a company van, fuel card, personal protective equipment (PPE), and testing tools provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct periodic inspections and testing of electrical wiring systems, as well as other compliance tasks, adhering to customer specifications and instructions, while following guidance from Project Managers and Technicians.
  • Perform electrical inspections and tests, along with potential servicing and maintenance, independently and safely, in line with the latest BS: 7671 standards, Construction Industry Safety Regulations, and company policies.
  • Comply with the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002, ensuring adherence to relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Engage with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers as necessary.
  • Interpret project drawings and specifications, determine project requirements, ensure compliance, and conduct system tests; troubleshoot issues within the project scope.
  • Commission and test electrical systems and equipment, providing necessary certifications; assist Project Managers in demonstrating new equipment to stakeholders, ensuring project outcomes meet customer expectations prior to handover.
  • Take responsibility for the successful completion of projects and, when required, supervise other team members in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a wide range of commercial and industrial electrical installation work.
  • Qualifications obtained through apprenticeship or equivalent training in electrical installation.
  • City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, 2351, or 2330 levels 2 and 3, or an approved equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or an approved equivalent).
  • Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2).
  • City and Guilds 2391 inspection and testing and 2382 BS7671 18th Edition certifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
