About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team at Sevenscore Ward, a 13-bedded Male acute mental health in-patient unit. As a key member of the multidisciplinary care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the recovery of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective and competent care to patients, as determined by their care plan, under limited supervision from senior colleagues.
  • Supervise the care given by band 2 healthcare workers and ensure that patients receive a patient-focused service that promotes optimum independence.
  • Record accurately all care given and note and report any care given and/or information required by the nurse in charge.
  • Enable patients to maintain and improve their independence by promoting active involvement in the therapeutic activity programme.
  • Promote a healthy, safe, and secure environment by adhering to Trust statutory health and safety requirements and maintaining confidentiality of information at all times.
Requirements
  • Experience of working within Mental Health/Learning Disabilities setting.
  • Have a good understanding of mental health conditions appropriate to the setting.
  • Numeracy and Literacy Skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Care Certificate completed.
  • Health or Social Care Qualification (Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Computer Literate.
