Position Overview
We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Senior AI Engineer to join the L&G Retail's AI Practice. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and specialized areas, integrating best practices to develop innovative solutions for Artificial Intelligence while enhancing existing systems within an agile, GitOps framework to meet business objectives and deliver successful results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing new Artificial Intelligence solutions, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the formulation of new methodologies to deliver valuable features to our Retail clientele.
- Creating solutions for the management and operation of Machine Learning models and LLMs.
- Developing backend applications for Artificial Intelligence using Python and frontend applications using Angular, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Configuration-as-Code (CaC), and Policy-as-Code solutions utilizing Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, YAML, and Kustomize.
- Participating in larger projects and leading small to medium-sized work items, contributing to design, build, and deployment phases.
- Utilizing metrics to inform data-driven decisions, continuously improving deployment, monitoring, and operational strategies to enable streamlined release and operational activities, ensuring high-performance and resilient systems in production.
- Enhancing the team's knowledge and understanding of AI, GitOps, InfoSec, and DevOps to actively contribute to the success of the team, division, and broader organization.
- Communicating the advantages and use cases of an AI bot orchestrator to a diverse range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensuring that business and system modifications adhere to best AI practices and the appropriate change management processes, including IT Change Management Standards and Responsible AI.
- Professional certification or degree in AI Engineering is preferred but not mandatory; demonstrable experience will be considered as an equivalent.
- A strong understanding of or passion for AI and ML.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud, DevOps, GitOps, and MLOps is advantageous.
- Experience with Test-Driven / Behaviour-Driven Development methodologies and frameworks, CI/CD, Continuous Testing, and DevOps tools and technologies.
- Exposure to Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS connectivity.
- Knowledge of Azure Networking (Express Route, Virtual Networks, ASG / NSG, Azure Firewall).
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, Terraform, and YAML.
- Proficiency in Python service development and deployment.
- Experience in developing applications using Angular.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
- Experience in creating solutions for Machine Learning, AI, and RAG frameworks.
- Experience in establishing GitOps and MLOps workflows.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching junior team members in both technical skills and processes such as release management and change management.
