About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Officer to join our team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Accounts Payable team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of creditor invoices and payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and register creditor invoices and credit notes on our Purchase Ledger system, ensuring all fields are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date creditor details and account records, ensuring compliance with our Standing Financial Instructions and internal procedures.
  • Correspond with internal departments and creditors to resolve queries and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Validate staff travel and taxi journey expenditure against supporting documentation.
  • Check and register patient optical vouchers.
  • Provide excellent customer service to creditors, responding to queries and resolving issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the Purchase Ledger Supervisor to meet internal and statutory financial accounts deadlines.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required, including opening post, filing, scanning, and archiving.
Requirements
  • Maths C or above (or equivalent experience)
  • Previous work in an office environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Good numeracy and accuracy
