As the inaugural employment and immigration counsel within the UK division of a thriving international enterprise, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the employment and immigration framework of the organization. This company has seen remarkable expansion, both through organic growth and strategic acquisitions, and currently employs a diverse workforce exceeding 8,000 individuals in the UK.
In this strategic position, you will be tasked with overseeing the comprehensive employment and immigration strategy, which includes:
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to employment law.
- Addressing employee relations and dispute resolution.
- Managing the complexities associated with the recruitment of skilled professionals from the EU and beyond.
Collaboration with the HR department and other business units will be essential, as your role encompasses both strategic planning and operational execution. The majority of your work will focus on non-contentious employment matters.
This position offers a unique chance to become a key contributor to the organization from the outset, fostering a career within a dynamic and supportive environment. You will receive substantial backing from the General Counsel while also being expected to demonstrate independence in your area of expertise.
Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience or relevant pre-qualification exposure in HR or corporate immigration settings. It is essential that applicants have a solid background in both employment and immigration law, acquired through private practice or in-house roles.
