Our esteemed publishing organization is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Systems Lead to enhance their team. This role involves the development, implementation, and support of Data, Business Intelligence, and Analytics solutions that yield actionable insights for optimizing business performance. This position is a fixed-term contract to cover a temporary absence.
The ideal candidate will establish the team's work agenda; manage and oversee project tasks; ensure the quality of deliverables; provide leadership and direction to the team and stakeholders; and report on progress, challenges, and accomplishments to the Head of Business Systems.
Essential Skills:
- Extensive expertise in Excel, SQL, and data analytics, particularly with IBM Cognos BI
- Ability to collaborate across various departments and effectively manage key stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data exploration, metric/dashboard creation, and data transformation to fulfill business requirements
- Familiarity with the IBM suite (Planning Analytics and Cognos Analytics) or comparable enterprise-level BI software
- Experience with financial systems and a solid understanding of financial services terminology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support, develop, and manage data analytics and Business Intelligence tools, primarily IBM Cognos Analytics
- Offer technical guidance and leadership in data visualization and self-service reporting
- Conduct training sessions for business users on these systems
- Scope, develop, test, and maintain reports from our data warehouse; manage change requests related to sales reporting while ensuring accuracy
- Act as a liaison between Finance, Data, Publishing Systems, and the business
- Coordinate with external vendors and developers to ensure systems are current and that users are informed of new or modified functionalities
- In collaboration with the Applications Support team, manage business-as-usual tickets related to these systems, ensuring consistent and efficient issue resolution.
