About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Estates Officer - Capital Projects to join our Capital Team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on a number of major and minor capital works to deliver a compliant, high-quality, safe, and efficient estate that provides value for money received from the capital programme.

Main Duties
  • Prepare and review the 5-year investment plan for the estate, and provide assistance with the completion of ERIC, PAM, and other national returns.
  • Deputise for the Estates and Facilities - Health and Safety Manager for the Control of Contractors management.
  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical responses and commissioning for all capital projects and be an authorised person for at least two mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Assist with the full range of duties in the implementation of building and engineering works as part of the Trust's Capital Programme.
  • Prepare designs for major capital works in accordance with NHS Health Technical Memorandum (HTMs) and Health Building Notes (HBNs), British Standards, and all current legislation.
  • Take the Building/M&E technical lead on identified issues related to the management of Estates, Building, and Engineering works and providing accurate up-to-date advice as required.
  • Ensure a seamless transfer of completed projects to the Estates operational team to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain a close and effective working relationship with the Estates Team to achieve an effective and integrated Estates service.
  • Act as Project Lead and oversee staff/consultants within the projects team.
