Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver personalized support to learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Assist in the execution of tailored education plans (IEPs) and behavioral support frameworks.
  • Facilitate students' academic and social growth.
  • Work collaboratively with educators, guardians, and other specialists to foster a nurturing educational atmosphere.
  • Document and communicate student progress and behavior to the SEN Coordinator and other relevant personnel.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent credential.
  • Experience engaging with children or young adults with ASD and other SEN.
  • Awareness of the unique challenges and requirements of students with ASD.
Educational Background:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Experience Required:

Prior experience in a similar capacity within an educational environment.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Familiarity with SEN policies and practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to function effectively within a team setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting students with SEN.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • First Aid certification.
  • Makaton or PECS training.
Working Environment:

This position entails working in a school context, adhering to school hours and term schedules. The role may involve physical activity and managing challenging behaviors. Training and support will be provided as needed.
