Job Title: Software Architect

The Software Architect will be part of the core product development team, working on our next generation marketing & messaging based platform, Agility Harmony. This person will work with a team of architects to define product and feature functionality for Harmony, which is used by our digital marketing clients. The Software Architect must demonstrate excellent communication skills as they will be expected to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in full life-cycle development from requirements through implementation.
  2. Translate business needs to the technical team and assign programming and development tasks to the technical staff.
  3. Develop and provide mentoring to less experienced technical staff.
  4. Design coding and software best practices, develop reference and proof of concept implementations.
  5. Design and development of reusable components and services.
  6. Create unit and component integration test strategies with a focus on validation of proper function and appropriate data.
  7. Must be comfortable with multiple areas of responsibility including but not limited to presentation, business logic, persistence, performance, scalability, and integrations.
  8. Expected to help specify the features of physical design, estimate time and effort to complete each feature, build or supervise implementation of features, prepare product for deployment, and provide technology subject-matter expertise to the team.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 10 years Java development experience.
  3. 3 to 5 years of experience in designing large scale enterprise web applications.
  4. Core Java, Servlets, JSP, EJB 3.x, JPA, RESTFUL and SOAP based Web Service development and JMS experience.
  5. Strong background in Java and J2EE Design Patterns, Software Design Principles, UML and Rational Unified Process.
  6. Experience in modularity, scalable UI framework design and extendable service components.
  7. Experience in the design of scalable UI applications and high performance server side applications.
  8. A strong work ethic with good time management skills.
  9. The ability to work with diverse teams and lead meetings.
  10. Ability to use strong industry knowledge to relate to customer needs and dissolve customer concerns with a high level of focus and attention to detail.
  11. Knowledge of Spring MVC, Hibernate and Spring frameworks.
  12. Understanding of Html 5, CSS3, Java Script, AJAX based programming and jQuery/Hibernate.
  13. Experience in Hadoop, Cassandra, Big data technologies is a plus.
