The Role

We're seeking a talented Coatings Scientist to join our dynamic R&D team. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to advance the performance of coatings on sustainable leather textiles from R&D through to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advance the performance of coatings on sustainable leather textiles from R&D through to production.
  • Collaborate with coating suppliers and universities to develop cutting-edge solutions.
  • Optimise coating effectiveness, assess its impact on product performance and work on scale-up processes from ideation to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Manage your own projects, support production scale developments, and test new coating technologies.
  • Provide recommendations for new technical solutions and work closely with our production facilities.

Requirements

  • Degree: Master's or Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science with a focus on coatings, polymers, or soft matter.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the coating industry, ideally in leather, textiles, packaging, or surface treatment, with production environment experience.
  • Skills: Data analysis, problem-solving, managing external suppliers, and strong teamwork and communication skills.
