Position Overview:
The role of a Shipping and Materials Handler is crucial in maintaining an uninterrupted flow of materials by efficiently packing and managing shipping documentation for all finished goods and vendor returns. It is essential to ensure that items are prepared for shipment in accordance with established cut-off deadlines. This position involves actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing packing and shipping accuracy. As a Shipping and Materials Handler, you will engage in a hands-on capacity within the production team, demonstrating a proactive attitude and a keen eye for quality.
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, with additional hours on Friday.
Key Qualifications:
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to adhere to structured workflows and standard operating procedures.
· Effective communication skills for collaboration with Production, Distribution, and Quality Assurance teams.
· A commitment to continuous improvement practices.
· Flexibility in responding to work requests and a willingness to go above and beyond to fulfill job responsibilities.
· Proficiency in computer systems, with the capability to learn and utilize ERP software (e.g., AX 2012 or D365) for inventory management.
· Previous experience in a logistics or warehouse environment is preferred.
· A strong customer service orientation, with a focus on meeting shipping deadlines.

Work Environment:
You will be based in our state-of-the-art facility, strategically located to facilitate access to transportation links.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the handling and packing of finished goods in compliance with standard operating procedures and health and safety regulations.
· Accurately select packing materials and supplementary items.
· Ensure proper labeling of packages, including item names and serial numbers.
· Maintain a consistent flow of products by adhering to FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
· Process courier bookings and shipping documentation accurately, including generating delivery notes and directing packages to the appropriate shipping areas.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings to assess performance metrics.
· Assist with inventory counts as necessary.
· Uphold a clean and organized distribution area in accordance with 5S principles.
