Role Purpose

The Estates Project Manager position is designed to assist the Head of Property Investment in delivering and maintaining a robust, efficient, and sustainable estates portfolio that meets the requirements of both Corporate and Frontline Business Functions. The individual in this role will report to the Estates Programme Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the execution of small to medium-sized property projects, which may encompass major renovations, maintenance tasks, Net Zero initiatives, and new construction projects.

Our organization manages the visibility of properties that provide essential services, such as driving test centers and enforcement road check locations. You will be entrusted with the autonomy to manage projects independently, which includes overseeing financial aspects and adhering to established budgets. Your role will involve collaboration with a diverse range of clients and service providers across a varied Estates portfolio, reinforcing our commitment to prioritizing customer satisfaction in all our endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify property-related works and customer needs, providing recommendations and evaluating priorities.
  • Translate requirements into a clear and precise Client Brief for external Service Providers.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for property maintenance, project delivery, and Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM 2015).
  • Evaluate risks and challenges, proposing solutions to safeguard building assets.

Candidate Profile

We seek an individual with outstanding project management expertise and a background in estates management, property-related projects, and contract oversight. A solid understanding of property legislation and project management contracts, such as New Engineering Works (NEC) or the Joint Contracts Tribunal, is essential.

You should be an effective communicator capable of conveying information to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing. Strong customer service skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues are crucial. You must be highly organized, capable of working independently, and able to apply your initiative effectively.

Collaboration with our customers is vital, and you should be able to deliver high-quality work promptly, even under demanding deadlines. A willingness to learn through experience is important, and we will support your professional growth in alignment with the Government Property Profession.

Additional Information

This role offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility in your work location. However, a minimum of 60% of your time should be spent at your designated base location. Regular travel throughout the UK will be required, including overnight stays.

A Prince 2 Foundation or Practitioner qualification is required, or you should be willing to pursue this qualification.
