As a vital member of the project management team, you will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager to ensure the effective and safe execution of strategic capital maintenance initiatives. Your role will involve engaging with external partners, internal teams, and key stakeholders to contribute to Southern Water's investment strategy, focusing on asset resilience and customer supply.
This position offers exposure to significant capital maintenance projects with substantial budgets, presenting a rewarding opportunity for a driven individual to enhance customer value while supporting environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, permits, and compliance materials.
- Prepare and deliver regular progress updates to stakeholders, emphasizing critical developments, challenges, and risks.
- Serve as a liaison for operations, principal contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication.
- Organize and engage in coordination meetings to ensure alignment and information sharing among all parties.
- Oversee project activities to guarantee adherence to industry standards and safety protocols.
- Assist in quality assurance inspections and ensure timely resolution of any defects or issues.
- Help identify potential risks and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
- Support the Project Manager in addressing any challenges or conflicts that arise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Aid in the procurement of necessary materials, equipment, and services for project execution.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure that project activities remain on schedule.
- Uphold health and safety standards on-site, fostering a secure working environment.
- Provide assistance to project team members, helping to resolve issues and ensuring seamless project delivery.
- Manage various administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and maintaining project records.
- Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of project data within management systems.
About You
This role will leverage your strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities, ideally within the Water, Utilities, or Engineering sectors. A foundational qualification in Project Management (e.g., APM Project Management Fundamentals) is preferred, but support for this area is available.

Package
This is a full-time position, operating Monday to Friday, totaling 37 hours per week. Southern Water adopts a hybrid working model.
