Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is a specialized center dedicated to supporting students from Outwood Academies in the Northern Region who require additional behavioral, social, emotional, or mental health support. We provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for vulnerable students facing challenging behaviors and at risk of exclusion.

The Role of the SEND Officer

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Officer to join our team and contribute to a supportive and respectful learning environment. You will work closely with the SENDCo to identify and address the needs of students who may require an EHCP or additional high-needs funding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to the SEND Code of Practice and Looked After Children guidance.
  • Develop and implement strategies and interventions to support students with SEND in achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with parents, external agencies, and colleagues to provide comprehensive support.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation related to student needs and progress.
  • Promote equality and diversity within the academy community.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience working with students with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
