Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to take on a pivotal role in enhancing our production capabilities. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in the development of our welding department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting engineering drawings and technical instructions to fabricate metalwork products.
  • Utilizing various tools, machinery, and welding equipment based on your expertise.
  • Collaborating with the Quality Team to establish standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Executing cutting and forming of sheet metal.
  • Fabricating components such as pipes, flanges, and fittings.
  • Conducting inspections and testing welds to verify structural integrity and identify defects.
  • Documenting non-conformances and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting with logistics as needed to support warehouse operations.
  • Upholding health and safety standards within the work area.
  • Occasionally working across various locations as required.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
  • Experience working with diverse materials, particularly stainless steel, alloys, and mild steel.
  • Possession of relevant qualifications such as L3 NVQ in Fabricating and Welding or equivalent.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Background in industries adhering to aerospace, defense, or nuclear standards.
  • Experience in implementing continuous improvement processes.
  • Familiarity with welding pressure vessels and conducting pressure tests.
  • Willingness to mentor and support apprentices.
