The position entails comprehensive management of the financial accounts process, ensuring that all controls and procedures are adhered to, while maintaining accurate finance ledgers. This role will involve frequent collaboration with senior management to analyze and discuss business performance, ultimately aiming to enhance profitability. You will work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization, playing a vital role in advancing the business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Finance contact for the Managing Director and the heads of Operational Business units, offering support and constructive feedback on financial performance.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports, along with the Executive reporting package.
- Oversee the accounting ledger, ensuring adherence to processes and controls, and maintain a consistent schedule for balance sheet reconciliations, including managing the annual audit.
- Facilitate planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a solid academic background.
- Proven experience in managing the monthly financial accounts process and ensuring readiness for external audits.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver budgets and forecasts while securing stakeholder agreement.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying clear and impactful messages to non-financial audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills, able to provide both challenge and support effectively.
- Experience in a comparable retail, wholesale, or e-commerce environment.
- Confident and determined, with strong influencing abilities.
- Proactive and optimistic, with the ability to eliminate obstacles to achieve objectives.
- Detail-oriented with a capacity to understand the broader context.
