About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter Decorator to join our team at HMP Feltham, a category A and B young offenders institute and prison for males 15+. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out painting and decorating tasks to a high standard, ensuring a safe and secure environment for prisoners and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with experienced colleagues from various trades, including plumbers, electricians, and carpenters, to achieve common goals.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and repair of prison facilities, including walls, floors, and ceilings.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and good working practices.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a maintenance team, with a strong focus on health and safety.
  • An honest and reliable character, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
