About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial IP Specialist Solicitor to join our team at Sheridans. As a key member of our Branding and Advertising team, you will be responsible for advising clients on commercial IP matters, including content production, exploitation, and distribution, as well as brand strategy and protection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial IP Matters: Advise clients on commercial IP matters, including content production, exploitation, and distribution, and drafting related agreements.
  • Brand Strategy and Protection: Advise clients on brand strategy, brand protection, and creation, and drafting associated applications and agreements.
  • Advertising and Marketing: Advise clients on advertising and marketing related campaigns, including online, digital, linear, event-based, and out-of-home initiatives.
  • Regulatory Advisory Work: Advise clients on digital regulation, online safety, and ASA and CMA related rules and regulations.
  • Publishing and Print: Advise clients on publishing, print, and new media matters.
  • Sponsorship and Talent Management: Advise clients on sponsorship arrangements, including celebrity endorsements and social media and influencer marketing arrangements.
  • Talent Advisory Work: Advise talent on their business dealings, business ventures, image rights, licensing, and income arrangements.
  • Supply Chain Matters: Advise clients on supply chain matters, including goods and services, and business-to-business and business-to-consumer arrangements.
Requirements
  • At least 3-6 years of post-qualification experience within established and recognised practices.
  • A methodical approach to work with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience liaising with senior internal stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm, resilience, and a professional approach, with an excellent customer service ethic.
  • Ability to liaise with, persuade, and influence colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to remain organised, prioritise, and multi-task particularly when managing a large workload under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work confidentially, remaining discreet at all times.
  • Flexibility towards working out of regular hours at busy times.
Qualifications
  • Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
