About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Beauty Product Buyer to join our team at Superdrug. As a key member of our buying team, you will be responsible for developing and managing our key hair care category.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective category plans, including range reviews, promotions, pricing, and stock management.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement marketing promotion plans and strategies that drive footfall and profitable sales.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, taking appropriate action where necessary, and sharing best practice with peers and other stakeholders.
  • Work with the Own Brand team to develop and deliver Own Brand products/ranges that meet agreed strategy and plans.
  • Agree merchandising strategies with the Merchandising team to drive and deliver the right range in the right store.
  • Identify and implement new product opportunities that are competitively priced, commercially viable, and meet customer needs.
  • Manage and review pricing to ensure it is competitive and maximizes profitability.
  • Work with the Supply Chain team to ensure base sales and promotional forecasts are adhered to, while maintaining in-store availability.
  • Develop effective internal working relationships with cross-functional team members to support and enhance category objectives and performance.
  • Develop and maintain effective external relationships to enhance the Superdrug proposition and meet customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a buyer in a retail environment (Grocer, Fragrance, Healthcare)
  • Significant experience with Excel
  • Strong commercial awareness
