We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Apprentice to join our team at Leicestershire County Council. As a Data Analyst Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work with various teams across the Environment and Transport Department, supporting the department, local communities, and elected members.
Key Responsibilities- Support various teams across the Department to gain experience in Data Analytics.
- Assist with carrying out technical and administrative work of the section in which the apprentice is assigned.
- Attend academic learning days at a provider in Leicester.
- Maintain training records in accordance with the requirements of the Training Scheme and the Corporate Learning and Development Advisor.
- Comply with all authority and departmental policies, management systems, procedures, and working practices.
- Carry out college work during your own time, including assignments and revision for exams.
- Complete End Point Assessment administered by the British Computer Society (BCS), Chartered Institution for IT.
- Perform other duties as required by other officers that are appropriate to the Data Analyst Apprentice education, experience, and position of the training programme.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade A* - C or 9 – 4, including Maths and English or equivalent.
- Experience in a technical or office environment, including data extraction and analysis, problem identification and solving, report writing, and working as part of a team.
- Experience with computing or software design, coding software/tools (such as C++, Python, R, GitHub), and specialist GIS software (such as QGIS, MapInfo).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including providing relevant, concise oral and written advice to senior officers, external partners, and training providers.
- A customer-focused approach, with the customer experience central to the delivery of the service.
