Senior Innovation Engineer

AQA

Hybrid

Salary: £53,000 - £65,300

As a Senior Innovation Engineer at AQA, you will be responsible for driving forward new ideas and solutions that will shape the future of the business. You will thrive on innovation and problem-solving, collaborating with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where technology innovation can drive business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop proof of concepts to explore new technologies, demonstrating their potential benefits and practical application.
  • Provide specialized support for existing applications, ensuring seamless operation and troubleshooting.
  • Create test harnesses and frameworks to evaluate new technologies, ensuring they meet the needs of the business before broader implementation.
  • Play a key role in shaping the Innovation roadmap, driving initiatives aimed at improving business processes and technology integration.
  • Mentor and support junior developers, aiding in their professional growth and helping them navigate new technologies.
  • Be prepared to provide hands-on support for live systems, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation to aid in the estimation of project sizing, benefits, and potential risks, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Work closely with development teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of innovative solutions, offering technical guidance and support throughout the process.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in software development languages, particularly.NET and C#, with a strong understanding of coding practices.
  • Strong knowledge of scripting and engineering languages, especially Python and or Matlab, to support various technical tasks.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development techniques, especially within Azure, is essential for the role.
  • A good understanding of system design and architecture to ensure that solutions are well-integrated and scalable.
  • A willingness and ability to quickly learn and evaluate new technologies, with a mindset geared toward innovation and experimentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas, collaborate with teams, and document solutions.
  • A proactive and adaptive approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to tackle challenges head-on.
  • An approachable, supportive attitude that encourages collaboration and mentorship within the team.
