Menzies Distribution Limited is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Logistics Operations Supervisor to enhance the productivity and efficiency of our parcel sorting facility. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will be pivotal in managing the daily functions of the warehouse and overseeing mechanical sorting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the oversight and management of daily warehouse operations alongside Operations Managers.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of strategies aimed at maximizing productivity, minimizing expenses, and enhancing overall operational effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) to pinpoint areas needing improvement and aid in the implementation of necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to apply flow management methodologies, ensuring the timely and precise sorting, processing, and dispatching of parcels.
  • Provide leadership, training, and support to warehouse personnel, fostering high performance and productivity levels.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with other departments to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Establish and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guarantee consistency and efficiency in warehouse activities.
  • Work closely with the site SHEQ Coordinator and Training and Compliance Coordinator to ensure full compliance among all team members.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a supervisory capacity within a parcel sorting environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with flow management techniques is preferred.
  • Strong people management capabilities, with a talent for motivating and inspiring teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems and relevant software applications.
  • Able to thrive under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
