About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Polysomnographer to join our team at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Polysomnographer, you will play a critical role in the setup, analysis, and scoring of sleep diagnostic tests, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, bio-calibrate, and record sleep diagnostic tests in our in-patient ward and outpatient department.
  • Supervise junior staff and temporary staffing as needed.
  • Mentor and support our Sleep Technology Practitioner (STP) postgraduate students.
  • Participate in clinical audit and research as required.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform ongoing risk assessments to ensure the well-being of service users and staff.

Person Specification
  • Undergraduate honours degree or an integrated master's degree in a relevant science subject, including Human Anatomy and Physiology and research skills.
  • Experience in working in the field of sleep, with a high degree of proficiency in using computers and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to problem-solve, plan, and organize work for yourself and others.
  • Facilitation and support of learning and training for yourself and others.
