About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Barclays Bank team as a Software Developer. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving software solutions that provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing, and stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations.
  • Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
Vice President Expectations
  • Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work to keep up to speed with business activity and business strategies.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with Java, web development, and API design.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
